The National Property Service Regulatory Authority has announced a new Code of Practice for Property Service Providers operating within the Irish Market. The Code highlights the areas of responsibility for Property Service Providers within the context of everyday business operations, detailing their responsibility to their clients, customers, the public and fellow property professionals. Many aspects of business are covered by the Code including ethics, conflicts of interest, compliance, Professional Development and Marketing. The document describes in detail the Disciplinary Process for Enforcement of the Code. However it is notable that the Code is voluntary in that only those Property Service Providers who subscribe to it can have its principles enforced. Those who do subscribe to the Code of Practice are bound by its conditions and therefore are responsible for ensuring that the Code is adhered to within their establishment.
